Buffalo Bayou Park

The Cistern, a historic subterranean drinking-water reservoir from 1926 that now serves as a temporary art installation space in Buffalo Bayou Park, is a fascinating location in the park. Visitors can now have a short-guided tour of the museum.

Waugh Drive Bridge is also home to a large colony of Mexican free-tailed bats, a rare sight in this part of town. Approximately 250,000 of them take to the skies from the bridge every evening at sunset.
